Las Vegas Rain Snow Forecast February 2025

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 11, 2025 — After enduring 213 consecutive days without measurable rainfall, Las Vegas is poised to finally receive significant precipitation. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts rain and snow starting Wednesday night and continuing into Thursday morning.

The last instance of measurable rain in Las Vegas occurred on July 13, 2024. According to the NWS, the forecast includes the possibility of snow accumulation of up to half an inch. Tuesday’s overnight low is expected to drop to 33 degrees, accompanied by north-northeast winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 14 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.

Wednesday is anticipated to be mostly clear, with a high temperature of around 52 degrees. However, as the night progresses, clouds will roll in, leading to rain and snow, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation becoming 100 percent by Thursday.

“It’s significant for the valley to expect this amount of precipitation after such a long drought period,” stated a local meteorologist from the NWS Las Vegas office. “We encourage residents to prepare for potential road hazards due to icy conditions.”

The current dry spell has placed all of Clark County under an extreme drought, with some areas experiencing exceptional drought conditions. The lack of rainfall is notable; the previous record for consecutive dry days was 240, set in 2020.

Weather forecasts indicate that the rain and snow will taper off by Friday, but for now, residents are urged to be cautious and stay informed about changing conditions. The potential weather system impacting the region initially developed in the eastern Pacific.

This anticipated precipitation is welcomed news for both residents and environmental authorities striving to combat severe drought conditions in the area. Meteorologists are monitoring the situation closely for updates as the weather system approaches.
