Las Vegas Weather: Wind Advisory and Cooling Temperatures This Week
Las Vegas is experiencing a mix of weather conditions this week, with a significant focus on windy and cooling temperatures. As of October 29, a Wind Advisory is in effect until 5am, warning of southwest gusts up to 40 mph. This advisory highlights concerns about blowing dust and crosswinds that could affect high-profile vehicles.
The current weather forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers tonight and a slim 10% chance lingering into Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with lows in the 50s tonight and highs limited to the upper 60s on Tuesday. This cooling trend is attributed to a midnight cold front that will bring northwest winds.
For the remainder of the week, Las Vegas can expect mild and mostly sunny conditions. Highs are forecasted to be in the mid-to-upper 80s, approaching the 90-degree mark by Wednesday and Thursday. However, a strong cold front is anticipated to move through the region on Monday, bringing more wind and a sharp temperature drop. Despite this, precipitation remains unlikely, with Halloween expected to be dry and cool with highs in the mid 70s and nights in the mid 50s.
The region has been dry, with the last measurable rain recorded on July 13th. Total valley rainfall in 2024 is below normal, standing at 2.27 inches, which is 1.04 inches below the average.
