In time for the holiday season, 7UP has introduced a new limited-edition soda inspired by the classic Shirley Temple cocktail. This drink, traditionally made with a combination of citrusy soda, grenadine syrup, and garnished with a maraschino cherry, has been a popular choice for generations at family gatherings and social events.

The concoction, known for its vibrant flavor and nostalgic appeal, has been reimagined by 7UP in a ready-to-drink format. According to Andrew Springate, Chief Marketing Officer at Keurig Dr Pepper, the beverage is “a festive addition to the holiday season.” The release is scheduled to commence on October 15 and run through December 1, available in grocery retail stores across the United States.

The Shirley Temple soda will be sold in two-liter bottles as well as 12 packs of 12-ounce cans. A zero-sugar version will also be available, catering to different consumer preferences. The flavor experts at Keurig Dr Pepper have crafted the drink to capture 7UP’s signature citrusy taste, complemented by vibrant notes of pomegranate and cherry, reports the company.

This move by 7UP is part of a broader trend in the beverage industry, where brands are engaging in nostalgic marketing by reintroducing classic flavors with a modern twist. “The company loves the challenge of launching a beverage that evokes a deep sense of nostalgia with a modern twist,” added Springate.

While Shirley Temple sodas have appeared in various forms before, they were primarily available through specialty stores or in certain regions. With 7UP’s national rollout, enthusiasts of the drink can now anticipate greater accessibility.

As the holiday season approaches, this nostalgic offering aims to appeal not only to those looking for a taste of childhood but also to those who appreciate the classic non-alcoholic cocktail.
