Keep It Cleaner founder Laura Henshaw and AFL boundary rider and television personality Abbey Holmes are slated to visit Ballarat to discuss the theme of finding comfort in business discomfort. Their engagement comes as part of the third annual Western Bulldogs Women in Business networking luncheon, which aims to bring notable women to share their experiences with the local community.

The luncheon, scheduled for mid-November at The Goods Shed, will not only feature the speaking engagements of Henshaw and Holmes but will also highlight regional producers such as Mrs Browne Bakes, showcasing the culinary talents of Ballarat. “Our hope is to continue evolving events of this scale in Ballarat,” said Tahlia Manners, Western Bulldogs events lead, emphasizing the partnership with the city.

Both Henshaw and Holmes have undergone significant career transitions, making them apt speakers for the event’s theme. Laura Henshaw shifted from a career in law to founding her wellness and lifestyle brand, Keep It Cleaner, which has seen significant growth, evolving from an app-based business to retailing products such as protein powders and snacks in major grocery stores.

Abbey Holmes, known for her roles as a Channel 7 sports commentator and her participation in television shows like SAS Australia and Australian Survivor, originally began her career as a real estate agent before becoming a loungewear entrepreneur with the brand Blideside. Their experience in handling diverse career challenges exemplifies the theme of finding comfort in discomfort.

Manners noted that the theme of the event was a collaborative result. “Finding comfort in discomfort is something both women have experienced in different ways,” she stated, underscoring the resonance their stories have with people who have shown great interest in the event. Due to its increasing popularity, there is already an extensive waiting list.

The Women in Business event represents an extension of the Western Bulldogs’ community partnership with Ballarat, which includes hosting AFL matches at Mars Stadium. Manners expressed confidence that the stories of both Henshaw and Holmes would provide valuable insights for attendees, attracting interest from Ballarat locals and Melbourne residents alike.
