Lenawee County Board Reschedules February Meeting, Community Events Heat Up

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners has rescheduled its February meeting to Monday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m., moving it from its usual third Wednesday of the month. The meeting will be held in person at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility, located at 200 Sand Creek Highway in Adrian.

The board’s 2025 meeting schedule includes dates in March through December, with meetings typically held on the third Wednesday of each month. The rescheduling comes as the community prepares for a busy February filled with family-friendly activities and events.

February kicks off with “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, Feb. 1, hosted by the Lenawee District Library and its branches. The event features doughnuts and a scavenger hunt. On Monday, Feb. 3, children can decorate picture frames with candy conversation hearts at the library’s main branch in Adrian. Later that week, kids are invited to paint keepsake boxes on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library will hold their monthly book sale on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 100 Brown St. in Clinton. The sale will feature sections on Presidents, politics, diet, exercise, puzzles, and games, with a special focus on romance novels for Valentine’s Day. The Michigan section has been expanded to include books for both adults and children.

For those planning events, the Adrian Armory will host a Wedding Reception and Event Open House on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees can tour the venue, meet preferred vendors, and start planning their next event at no cost.

Residents struggling with the winter blues can attend the “Conquering Cabin Fever” program on Monday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Lenawee County Department on Aging, 327 Erie St. The event is free and open to the public.

Finally, the Greater Lenawee Chamber of Commerce (GLCC) will host its Business After Hours event on Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the newly opened venue at 101 E. Maumee St. in downtown Adrian. The event promises networking opportunities, food, and a chance to win a $100 gift card. Registration is required and can be completed online.
