Lewis Hamilton Roasts Jack Whitehall on Graham Norton Show Reunion

LONDON, England – Lewis Hamilton‘s sharp quip aimed at comedian Jack Whitehall during a past episode of The Graham Norton Show has resurfaced, surprising many fans as the two prepare to reunite at the F1 season launch event.
The memorable moment occurred nearly nine years ago when Hamilton, now 40, appeared on the show with Whitehall and actor Ewan McGregor. When asked by Norton if he usually drives off the track, Hamilton replied that he rarely does, prompting Whitehall to joke, “Can you park, are you good at the whole shebang or just the fast bit?”
Hamilton seamlessly responded with, “We know that you can’t drive,” which elicited gasps from the audience. He followed up with another jab, asking, “How does a man not have a driver’s license?”
Whitehall, who has openly discussed his inability to drive, humorously fired back with, “I get picked up by the chicks.” This light-hearted exchange set the tone for their upcoming reunion, where Whitehall will host F1 75, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Formula 1.
During the event at the O2 Arena on Tuesday, Hamilton is expected to make his first appearance for Ferrari, having signed with the Italian team earlier this year. The Brit will partner with Charles Leclerc, a collaboration that Ferrari chief executive Benedetto Vigna believes will be strong.
“We aim to compete at the top in both the Formula 1 and endurance championships,” Vigna said. “On a brand level, the arrival of Lewis is certainly good for us.”
With Hamilton’s history of disappointing qualifiers last season at Mercedes, motorsport pundit Martin Brundle emphasized the importance of a strong start for Hamilton at Ferrari. “There are no excuses at this level for anybody, even the rookies,” Brundle stated on Sky Sports News. “They will expect someone like Lewis to ace the people around him and the car within two or three races.”
As excitement builds for F1 75, which will showcase all 20 drivers’ 2025 challengers, fans will also enjoy live performances from musical acts like Take That and Machine Gun Kelly. Tickets for the event are selling fast, promising an electrifying atmosphere as F1 fans celebrate the sport’s rich history while looking forward to the new season.
In addition to the Hamilton-Whitehall dynamic, another emerging star, 19-year-old Oliver Bearman, made headlines at the event by confessing that he had failed his first driving test. Bearman, who debuted with Ferrari last year, shared his humorous experience with instructors before passing the test on his second attempt.
“I didn’t stop at a ‘stop’ sign,” Bearman laughed, adding that he required lessons after initially thinking he could pass without any instruction. “I am not officially a rookie but I think that is a bit harsh.”
As anticipation builds for the F1 season, Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari and Bearman’s rookie season are among the many intriguing storylines to follow, making this year’s championship all the more compelling.
