Dannion Brinkley Lightning Strike Survivor

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — After being declared clinically dead for 28 minutes following a lightning strike, Dannion Brinkley, 74, has become a spokesperson for life after death experiences.

Brinkley, a former Marine and published author, was struck by lightning in 1975 while using a telephone, which led to a profound transformation in his beliefs about death and the afterlife. He recalls the shocking moment vividly: “It went into the side of my head above my ear, it went down my spine. It welded the nails of the heels of my shoes to the floor,” he said in a recent interview.

As a result of the incident, Brinkley watched as emergency responders raced him to the hospital, witnessing his own body being declared dead by doctors. He later regained consciousness in a morgue, which spurred three transformative near-death experiences that he claims opened his mind to the reality of spiritual existence.

During his first experience, Brinkley described floating through a tunnel to what he calls a “Crystal City,” where he met a spiritual being of light. Brinkley underwent a comprehensive review of his life during this time, further affirming his conviction that no one truly dies.

After another near-death experience during heart surgery in 1989, he encountered what he believes were angelic instructors who imparted wisdom regarding his newfound psychic abilities. Brinkley said, “I learned to use my new psychic and spiritual gifts to aid the dying and the desperate.”

His third brush with death occurred during brain surgery, further solidifying his beliefs. Brinkley detailed how these experiences inspired him to help terminally ill patients come to terms with their fears about dying. “You’re not going to go to hell. That’s enough to inspire you to change,” he stated.

Brinkley authored the best-selling book “Saved by the Light,” where he shares his experiences and insights on death, urging readers to reconsider their understanding of life beyond the physical body. He continues to volunteer as a hospice counselor, especially working with fellow veterans.

Speaking to skeptics, Brinkley remains steadfast in his assertions about life after death and the spiritual nature of human existence. “Nobody dies. It never happens. It’s not a part of the nature of reality,” he said confidently.

Through public speaking engagements and sharing his journey, Brinkley aims to demystify death and provide reassurance to those confronting terminal illness.
