Limerick Residents Show Generosity With Valentine's Day Flower Spending

Residents of Limerick are demonstrating their love and generosity with the second-highest spending on flowers for Valentine’s Day, according to recent data from AIB, a leading financial institution.

The AIB Spend Trend report for February 13 and 14 revealed that Limerick locals typically spend an average of €55 on floral arrangements for their loved ones during the romantic occasion.

In comparison, the county of Cavan topped the list with an average spend of €57 on Valentine’s Day flowers.

The data, compiled from over 62 million card transactions, indicated that men account for 85% of spending in florists, while women dominate spending in beauticians, hair salons, and barbers, making up 79% of the expenditures.

John Brennan, the Head of SME Banking at AIB, emphasized the significance of analyzing spending habits data during events like Valentine’s Day to better understand customer needs and preferences.

Today, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., rose bouquets, single roses, potted flowers, and handmade cards and treats crafted by students will be available for purchase at the Mountainlair and Davis College Store, offering Limerick residents additional opportunities to express their affection.

For inquiries or further information, interested individuals can reach out to Joe Woods, the business manager overseeing the Valentine’s Day sales.
