<p)Lin-Manuel Miranda, the acclaimed creator of Broadway hits like ‘Hamilton‘ and ‘In the Heights,’ is embarking on a new and ambitious project titled ‘Warriors 2024.’ This musical endeavor is inspired by the iconic 1979 film ‘The Warriors,’ a cult classic that has had a profound impact on Hip-Hop culture. In a recent interview with Chuck Creekmur of AllHipHop.com, Miranda discussed his deep connection to the film, which he first watched as a child, and its significant influence on Hip-Hop.

The project, described as a musical love letter to the film, features an impressive lineup of creative contributors, including Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, Marc Anthony, Billy Porter, Ghostface Killah, RZA, actor Colman Domingo, and Nas. Eisa Davis, who is also involved in the project, highlighted the diverse musical influences and the innovative approach of creating an album before developing the full musical. This collaborative effort aims to transform the action-packed film into a musical format while maintaining its gritty essence.

Miranda and Davis also delved into the evolution of Hip-Hop theater, expressing their respect for the pioneers who have laid the groundwork for the genre. They emphasized the importance of creating a cohesive album in an era dominated by singles and streaming, underscoring the value of storytelling and artistry in music. This project represents a unique intersection of Hip-Hop, theater, and film, generating significant excitement among fans.

In addition to ‘Warriors 2024,’ Miranda is also involved in other upcoming projects, including his role as a producer for the live-action ‘Moana‘ movie, set to release on July 10, 2026. However, it is noteworthy that he is not contributing to the soundtrack of ‘Moana 2’.
