Linkin Park New Album Announcement

Linkin Park has officially announced a new chapter in their musical journey. During a live performance event on September 5, 2024, the band revealed that Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara will join as the new co-vocalist. Additionally, Colin Brittain, known for his work with G Flip, Illenium, and One OK Rock, has been appointed as the band’s new drummer.

The announcement coincided with the release of their first new single in seven years titled ‘The Emptiness Machine.’ This track serves as the lead single from their upcoming album entitled ‘From Zero,’ which is set to be released on November 15, marking the band’s first full-length album since 2017’s ‘One More Light.’ This previous album was released shortly before the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

The current lineup of Linkin Park includes Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, along with their newly inducted members. They are scheduled to embark on a six-date arena tour, including performances in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota.

Linkin Park’s first live performance post-announcement took place in Los Angeles, where fans were transported to a studio lot for the event. This special performance was livestreamed and will be accessible for viewing on Linkin Park’s official online platforms for a limited time.

According to a press release, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell, and Hahn have been gradually reconnecting over the years and, rather than attempting to restart the band, they collaborated with various musicians. They found a unique partnership with Armstrong and Brittain, which has invigorated their creative process.

Shinoda stated, ‘Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title relates to both our beginnings and our current journey. Musically and emotionally, it encompasses past, present, and future, celebrating our signature sound while introducing fresh elements.’ He expressed excitement about the new lineup’s energy and the music they have produced together.

‘The Emptiness Machine’ is described as embodying the essence of Linkin Park. Shinoda highlighted that the band feels empowered and revitalized with the new members and vibrant music they have created together, blending familiar sounds with innovative ideas.

Pre-sale tickets for the ‘From Zero’ tour will be available for the LP Underground fan club on September 6, with general sales starting the following day, September 7.

This announcement follows Linkin Park’s earlier release of the ‘Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023),’ which featured the band’s greatest hits over two decades, including popular tracks like ‘In the End,’ ‘Burn It Down,’ and the Jay-Z mashup ‘Numb/Encore.’

The planned ‘From Zero’ World Tour includes dates in the following cities: September 11 in Los Angeles, September 16 in New York, September 22 in Hamburg, September 24 in London, September 28 in Seoul, and November 11 in Bogota.
