‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Reunion Special Set for November 24
NEW YORK, NY – Nearly 30 years after its debut, the beloved sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” will celebrate its legacy with a reunion special airing on CBS and Paramount+ on Monday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m. ET.
Stars Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton, who played Ray and Debra Barone, will host the special. They will be joined by cast members Brad Garrett, Monica Horan, Madylin Sweeten, and Sullivan Sweeten, among others. The special aims to bring back nostalgic moments from the show, which first premiered on September 13, 1996.
The reunion comes with a bittersweet tinge, as the cast has mourned notable losses since the show concluded in 2005. Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, who portrayed Ray’s parents Frank and Marie Barone, passed away in 2006 and 2016, respectively. Sawyer Sweeten, who played Ray’s son Geoffrey, died by suicide in 2015.
Madylin Sweeten shared her grief after Sawyer’s death, stating, “Sawyer was more than just a brother. He was a strong and selfless friend… There isn’t a single day I won’t miss him.” The reunion will also pay tribute to Boyle and Roberts.
Romano expressed his heartache in a June interview about their departed co-stars: “They’re a big part of the show, the dynamic. Without them, I don’t know what the dynamic is.” He acknowledged that the shared memories are a cornerstone of the reunion.
As viewers prepare for the special, Romano and Heaton, both married to others in real life, continue to reflect on the show that defined their careers. Romano has four children with his wife, Anna Scarpulla, while Heaton has four with actor David Hunt. Fans can expect a mix of laughter and heartfelt memories when they tune into the reunion next week.
