Everybody Loves Raymond Reunion Special

New York, NY – After nearly three decades, the beloved sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond will celebrate its legacy with a reunion special airing on November 24 on CBS. The event will include cast members sharing memories and perhaps a few laughs, reinforcing the show’s enduring popularity.

Phil Rosenthal, the show’s creator, had been trying to organize a reunion for over a decade. This year’s special marks a culmination of efforts after CBS expressed interest. u201cI wanted to see my friends and celebrate our nice show,u201d Rosenthal said.

Ray Romano, who starred as Ray Barone, also expressed excitement about the reunion but made it clear that neither he nor Rosenthal favors a reboot. u201cWe felt like we couldnu2019t honestly do it since some of the cast isnu2019t with us anymore,u201d Romano remarked, referring to the late cast members Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, and Sawyer Sweeten.

In the past, attempts to organize a reunion did not gain traction. u201cI was ready to do the 20th and 25th anniversaries, but there wasnu2019t an appetite for it at CBS,u201d Rosenthal explained.

Earlier this year, a Paley Center exhibit provided an opportunity for Rosenthal and Romano to revisit the idea. u201cWe tried to get it together for when the Paley Center exhibit was happening, but for technical reasons, we couldnu2019t,u201d Romano noted.

The reunion special will also pay tribute to the late cast members, according to the hosts. Featuring appearances by Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, and Monica Horan, the 90-minute event promises to be a heartfelt celebration.

Romano has expressed appreciation for fans’ reactions to their Emmy Awards appearance made earlier this year, which he believes may have contributed to the reunion special’s approval. u201cIt was great to get that feedback. It made us feel like people still care and want to see this,u201d he said.

As for future reunions, Rosenthal hinted that, u201cIn 5-10 years, if weu2019re all still around, sure, why not revisit some of the things.u201d The Everybody Loves Raymond reunion special airs November 24 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
