Lsu Football Player Arrested In Connection To Shooting Incident

LSU football player Trey Holly, along with two other individuals, have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident at an apartment complex in Union Parish. Holly, a freshman at LSU, faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon in a public setting. The arrest came after Holly turned himself in following a warrant and is currently being held on bond.

Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, hinting at the possibility of additional arrests as they suspect another shooter might have been involved. Defense attorney Kelvin Rodgers stated that Holly plans to plead not guilty to all charges, vehemently denying any involvement in the crime.

The shooting at the Union Villa Apartments in Farmerville, which occurred on Feb. 9, resulted in two individuals sustaining gunshot wounds. The victims, identified as innocent bystanders, are expected to recover from their injuries. Farmerville Police Department reports indicated that the altercation leading to the shooting was a result of preceding conflicts in the area.

Two other men, Jordan Jones and an unnamed juvenile male from Farmerville, were also arrested in connection to the shooting. Jordan faces charges of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons on a public roadway, while the juvenile’s charges include attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal possession of a handgun.

Trey Holly, originally from Farmerville, had a promising high school career where he set Louisiana’s rushing record before joining LSU as a four-star recruit. Despite a standout performance during his freshman year, contributing a total of 110 yards and one touchdown, Holly’s career now faces uncertainty following his suspension from all team activities.

As investigations continue, LSU has refrained from further comments on the matter as they have suspended Holly indefinitely, abiding by departmental policies. The university stated that they respect the judicial process and will withhold further statements until more information unfolds.

With Holly’s future at LSU hanging in the balance, his legal team and the authorities are preparing for what promises to be a complex legal battle surrounding the shooting incident in Union Parish.
