Luke Combs Ends Stagecoach 2025 with Garth Brooks Surprise

Indio, California – Luke Combs closed out the Stagecoach Festival 2025 with a stunning performance on April 27, featuring a surprise appearance by country legend Garth Brooks. The event marked the end of the three-day music festival at the Empire Polo Club, which ran from April 25 to 27.
Combs began his final set on the Mane Stage with fan-favorite hits including ‘1, 2 Many’ and ‘When It Rains It Pours.’ The audience of approximately 80,000 was treated to multiple collaborations, making the night unforgettable. One standout moment came when Combs teased fans with the classic hit ‘Friends in Low Places,’ only to have Brooks join him on stage as the song progressed.
As Brooks took center stage, he was greeted with loud cheers and applause. The two artists performed the iconic song, celebrating its legacy since its 1990 release. Brooks called Combs a “future Hall of Famer” during their duet, highlighting the younger star’s impact on the country music genre.
Combs had already thrilled attendees earlier in the night by debuting his unreleased duet ‘Backup Plan’ with rising star Bailey Zimmerman. The singer had previously announced the collaboration on social media, generating excitement for its live performance. Before Brooks joined Combs, pop-punk band Good Charlotte also made a surprise appearance during the set, performing ‘The Anthem’ and a duet version of Combs’ ‘Where the Wild Things Are.’
The festival’s final day had a remarkable tone, blending various music styles and unexpected collaborations, proving to be a perfect send-off. Garth Brooks’ special performance was not the only surprise; earlier, he had posted a video of himself traveling to California, hinting he might make an appearance while singing, “Stagecoach never broke my heart.”
Despite strong winds and dust storms affecting some areas of the festival, the performances continued without interruption, showcasing the resilience of the artists and fans alike. Combs’ ability to blend country music’s rich history with contemporary styles highlighted his role as a leading figure in the genre.
