Luke Evans Frank N Furter Broadway Revival

NEW YORK, NY — Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Welsh actor Luke Evans will star as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the upcoming revival of Richard O'Brien‘s cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show. Previews are set to begin on March 26, 2026, with the official opening scheduled for April 23, 2026, at Studio 54.

This production marks Evans’ Broadway debut after an extensive career in London’s West End, where he performed in shows such as Rent and Miss Saigon. He is known for film roles in Beauty and the Beast and The Hobbit, as well as television appearances in Nine Perfect Strangers.

“I’m giddy to crack this untamable classic open with the razor-sharp Luke Evans at the center,” said director Sam Pinkleton, a Tony Award winner known for Oh Mary!. He added, “I hope to do at Studio 54 what The Rocky Horror Show has done for people around the world for decades — open a dimension to another possible reality.”

Originally premiering in London in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show has been a global phenomenon for over 52 years. The musical follows an innocent couple, Brad and Janet, who get stranded outside the mansion of mad scientist Frank-N-Furter, and encounter a world of eccentric characters and unforgettable songs.

Richard O’Brien, the show’s creator, expressed excitement about the new production, encouraging the cast to “break out the fishnets and let’s have a party!”

The creative team includes choreography by Ani Taj, music direction by Kris Kukul, and set design by dots. Additional casting will be announced later.

The Rocky Horror Show has captivated audiences worldwide, with the 1975 film adaptation boosting its popularity, leading to the stage version being seen by over 40 million people in 15 languages. Roundabout’s production is expected to attract both new fans and longtime supporters of the show. The limited engagement runs until June 21, 2026.
