Madison Keys Set for Opening Match Against Renata Zarazua at U.S. Open 2025

NEW YORK, USA — Madison Keys, currently ranked No. 6 in the world, will face unseeded Renata Zarazua in the first round of the U.S. Open on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. ET.
Keys is coming off her first Grand Slam title, which she won at the Australian Open earlier this year. “It’s been an amazing year, and I’m looking to build on that success,” Keys said. This will be her first appearance at the U.S. Open since 2017, when she reached the final.
Zarazua, a 27-year-old from Mexico, is entering the tournament as an unseeded player. Despite struggling in recent matches, she has established herself primarily in doubles, securing 17 ITF titles and one Challenger title. This season, she has yet to progress past the second round in singles.
Fans can watch the match live on ESPN and stream it online through various platforms including Star Sports Network and the JioHotstar app in India.
The U.S. Open this year features 23 American men in the tournament, the most in 25 years, while Keys is among the 25 U.S. women competing. “It’s an exciting time for American tennis,” noted Keys. “We’re all pushing each other to reach new heights.”
This first-round match promises to be engaging, as both players seek early momentum in one of tennis’s most prestigious tournaments. Keys has been in strong form this season, accumulating an impressive record of 37 wins and 12 losses, including titles in both Adelaide and the Australian Open.
