As Louis Riel Day approaches in Manitoba, residents and visitors can expect a mix of closures and operational changes. CBC News has compiled a list of what will be open and closed across the province on this statutory holiday.

Shopping enthusiasts can still enjoy some retail therapy as CF Polo Park, Garden City Shopping Centre, St. Vital Centre, Outlet Collection Winnipeg, and Kildonan Place will remain open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Grant Park Shopping Centre will have slightly reduced hours from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m, while Portage Place mall will be closed for the day.

For those looking to relax, all Liquor Marts, with the exception of the one at True North Square in Winnipeg, will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Forks Market will also be welcoming visitors.

City services will experience some modifications, with Winnipeg Transit operating on a Sunday schedule. Public libraries and arenas will be closed, while indoor pools like Pan Am Pool, Cindy Klassen Rec Complex, and Margaret Grant Pool will operate under limited hours.

City offices, including the Animal Services Agency, will remain closed. However, cemeteries like Brookside, Transcona, and St. Vital will be open for visitation from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Assiniboine Park Zoo will maintain regular hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Museums and art galleries such as the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the Winnipeg Art Gallery will be closed on Louis Riel Day, offering a chance for reflection and outdoor experiences at places like The Leaf, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
