The Toronto Maple Leafs have bolstered their roster by signing several key players to new contracts, including veteran forward Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty, aged 35, recently signed a one-year contract with the club valued at $873,770 following his professional tryout during training camp. The Leafs are hopeful that his experience and skills will help in the upcoming season.

Pacioretty expressed enthusiasm about his new opportunity with the team. “Training camp was unlike any one I’ve ever had in the sense that you are trying to use it to get into shape and get ready but at the same time impress people, so it was unique in that sense. It was a very hard camp in a good way, exactly what I needed to get up to speed,” said Pacioretty. Last season, he accumulated 23 points, composed of four goals and 19 assists, over 47 games.

Additionally, the Maple Leafs signed forward Steven Lorentz to a one-year deal worth $775,000. Lorentz, aged 28, previously played with the Florida Panthers, where he managed to accumulate three points in 38 games during the last regular season and contributed three points in the playoffs, helping the Panthers clinch the 2024 Stanley Cup.

The team also extended the contract of defenseman Shane Webber. This agreement begins in the 2025-26 season and includes a two-way deal for the first season, which transitions to a one-way contract in 2026-27 with an average annual value of $825,000. Webber, still developing his game, showed promise while playing with Boston University, contributing six assists in 38 games, and helped his team reach the 2024 Frozen Four semifinals.
