Mariah the Scientist Linked to Young Thug’s Guilty Plea in YSL RICO Trial
Mariah the Scientist has been mentioned in the context of the high-profile trial of rapper Young Thug, who agreed to a guilty plea in his RICO case on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams, pleaded guilty to his role in criminal street gang activity and no contest to conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and leading a criminal street gang.
The trial, which has been Georgia‘s longest and most eventful, involved Young Thug and several co-defendants accused of being part of Young Slime Life (YSL), a group alleged to have ties to the national Bloods network. During the trial, there were several unusual incidents, including allegations that Young Thug sent messages to his girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist, through his attire.
Mariah the Scientist, who is also a musician, has been in the public eye recently for her own performances. On the same day as Young Thug’s plea, she was scheduled to perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn alongside Latto and KARRAHBOOO.
The outcome of Young Thug’s plea could result in a significant sentence, with prosecutors recommending 25 years in prison followed by 20 years of probation. The trial continues for the remaining co-defendants, including Yak Gotti and Shannon Stillwell, who have rejected plea deals.
