LOS ANGELES, CA (AP) — Celebrity chefs Martha Stewart and José Andrés are set to co-host a thrilling new cooking competition series titled ‘Yes, Chef!’, premiering on NBC on April 28, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The series features 12 chefs, all nominated by friends and family for their disruptive behaviors in the kitchen. These contestants will face a series of intense culinary challenges designed not only to test their cooking skills but also to help them improve their personal shortcomings.

“My flaw is that I definitely get a little angry in the heat of the moment,” said contestant Jake Lawler, an executive chef from Madison, Wisconsin. “Just working on being able to communicate effectively when things go south in the kitchen.” Lawler was nominated by his front-of-house manager at Vintage Brewing Company.

Each episode of ‘Yes, Chef!’ will consist of two challenges, beginning with the Main Challenge, a team exercise to test leadership skills. Stewart and Andrés will choose a winning team and select one chef as the Most Valuable Chef (MVC), who will compete in a cook-off that determines who gets eliminated.

The ultimate goal for the contestants is to improve their culinary skills and personal attitudes while vying for a grand prize of $250,000 sponsored by granola brand Purely Elizabeth.

Viewers can catch the premiere of ‘Yes, Chef!’ tonight on NBC. The episode will also be available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
