Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sets Sales Milestone in Indian Automotive Industry

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has achieved a significant milestone with its Fronx SUV, which has reached the 2-lakh sales mark in just 17.3 months. Launched in April 2023, the compact SUV has rapidly gained popularity among Indian consumers, citing its design, technological features, and performance as main attractions.

This achievement represents the second major sales record for the Fronx, following its recognition as the fastest new model to reach the 1 lakh sales milestone in January 2024, accomplished in just ten months. The following month saw an additional 1 lakh units sold within a span of 7.3 months, further underlining the vehicle’s widespread appeal.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at MSIL, lauded the Fronx’s sales success, stating, “The remarkable success of the FRONX reflects Maruti Suzuki’s understanding of evolving customer expectations and our efforts to deliver products that exceed them.” He added, “With a notable 16% year-on-year growth in FY25, this compact SUV has captured the attention of first-time buyers while becoming the preferred choice for those upgrading within the segment.”

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is offered at a price range between Rs 7.52 lakh and Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in six variants, including Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Delta+ (O), Zeta, and Alpha, with CNG options for the Sigma and Delta trims.

Designed to cater to diverse tastes, the Fronx is available in seven monotone and three dual-tone color options, such as Nexa Blue and Opulent Red. Its engine options include a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.2-litre petrol engine offered with manual or AMT options. The CNG variant boasts a 1.2-litre engine that delivers 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm of torque.

Fuel efficiency of the various models ranges between 20.1 kmpl and 28.51 kmpl, depending on the engine and transmission choice. The vehicle also features a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, cruise control, and auto climate control. Safety is prioritized with features such as up to six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Significant traction for the Fronx has been observed in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, with Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and Bengaluru among the top markets by sales. Additionally, demand has notably surged for the Fronx Turbo variant, admired for its dynamic driving experience.
