Maryland Lottery Announces February Closures and Big Prize Winners

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Maryland Lottery‘s Baltimore office will be closed on February 17, but Lottery Claim Centers at MGM, Live!, Horseshoe, Hollywood (Perryville), Ocean Downs, and Rocky Gap casinos will remain open for business. This announcement comes as the Lottery revealed that wins from the previous week totaled nearly $29.3 million.
In the week of February 3-9, a couple from Aberdeen claimed a $1 million scratch-off prize, while another player in Denton won $100,000. An additional six players from various locations—including Brooklyn Park, Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, Towson, and Waldorf—each won $50,000.
Throughout Maryland, the Lottery paid out nearly $29.3 million in total prizes during this week. This figure includes 30 tickets valued at $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in this seven-day period. Winners are advised to sign the backs of their tickets and secure any winning tickets in a safe place, as tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing.
In addition, FAST PLAY tickets also have a 182-day expiration period after purchase. Claims for scratch-off prizes are subject to specified deadlines, and those winning more than $25,000 must claim their prizes at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore. Tickets with prizes up to $25,000 can be redeemed at cashier windows in any of the six casinos across Maryland, and prizes up to $5,000 can be handled at over 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
All authorized Maryland Lottery retailers can redeem tickets worth up to $600. For further details, individuals can visit the Maryland Lottery’s official website, which also provides resources in multiple languages through Google’s Website Translator.
The Lottery reminds players that they must be at least 18 years old to participate in any of its gaming activities and encourages responsible play. The Maryland Lottery has contributed approximately $20 billion to the state since its inception in 1973.
