Seviroli Chicken Alfredo Kits Recall Listeria

Joseph Seviroli, LLC, based in Garden City, New York, has initiated a significant recall of its Chicken Alfredo Kits due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects a substantial 1,366,065 pounds of the product, highlighting a critical food safety issue.

The recall was prompted after the discovery of Listeria in the chicken used in the kits. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause severe foodborne illness, particularly in vulnerable populations such as the elderly, young children, and those with weakened immune systems.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is overseeing the recall. Consumers are advised to check their products for the affected batches and to avoid consuming them to prevent potential health risks.

This recall underscores the importance of rigorous food safety protocols and the need for consumers to remain vigilant about the products they purchase and consume.
