NEW YORK, NY — On the Wednesday, October 15 episode of “Today With Jenna & Friends,” Jenna Bush Hager highlighted Matt Rogers as a favorite among fans. While celebrating the release of her book imprint’s first novel, she shared a heartwarming anecdote about a mother-daughter duo who adore him.

“A lot of moms and daughters came up to me, and it turns out, Matt Rogers is their favorite,” Bush Hager told Rogers, her co-host for the day. She went on to explain that one fan even mentioned their shared viewing parties after school.

Rogers humorously added, “I’ve always been good with moms,” recalling how he would engage with mothers while visiting friends during high school. “You just go do your thing. Sometimes, I would even distract the moms while my friends would make drinks,” he said.

Bush Hager then joked about her childhood, mentioning how she would have loved to have Rogers interacting with her mother, former First Lady Laura Bush. The audience laughed as Bush Hager painted a picture of them chatting in the kitchen while she prepared drinks.

Rogers has gained strong support from viewers, many of whom have taken to social media to advocate for him as the permanent co-host of the show. Comments range from “We love Matt Rogers ❤️ give that man a job!” to “@mattrogerstho for permanent host!!!!”

Rogers has filled in for Bush Hager several times since the departure of her previous co-host, Hoda Kotb, in January. He has co-hosted during full weeks in both May and August, returning for his current stint beginning October 14 and continuing through October 17.

After their discussion, Bush Hager teased viewers, encouraging them to tune in with their mothers. “We’ll be here tomorrow. Bring all your moms to fall in love with Matt,” she joked. As the segment concluded, Rogers looked into the camera and called out, “Hey, moms!”
