Mazbou Q Collaborates with Kiwi Athletes for Olympic-Themed Songs

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Hip-hop artist and producer Mazbou Q has partnered with three Kiwi winter athletes to create motivational tracks ahead of the Milan-Cortina Olympics in 2026. The songs blend his energetic style with each athlete’s personal story, aiming to inspire and pump them up for the upcoming competition.
So far, two songs have been released, inspired by athletes Ruby Star Andrews and Ben Harrington. Standout lyrics from Ruby’s song include: “I’m a star // If we talking destiny I found it // I was born among the mountains // probably why I seek the peak and nothing else.”
Ruby expressed her excitement about working with Mazbou Q, stating, “It’s a really cool project. It’s something new for me. I was a little confused about what it was gonna be and what I was doing, but we had some really good chats and I feel like he really got to know me and wrote some really cool lyrics that I really connect with.”
Ben Harrington’s track titled ‘ALIVE’ was released last week, with one more song based on athlete Lyon Farrel expected to debut soon. Ruby has secured her spot in the Games, whereas Ben and Lyon are currently competing for their places in the months leading up to the Olympics.
The tracks are designed to hype the athletes as they pursue their dreams for the Winter Olympics. Ruby’s experience shows that they can pump up listeners and would fit well in a gym playlist.
