Mcdonald's Chicken Tenders Crispy Golden Strips

NEW YORK, April 24, 2025 — McDonald's USA announced that it will reintroduce its chicken strips to menus nationwide starting May 5, five years after they were removed.

These new McCrispy Strips are all-white meat chicken covered in a crispy, golden-brown breading. The company aims to capitalize on the popular trend of chicken items in fast food, as other chains like Raising Cane's and Wingstop have seen significant sales growth.

Alyssa Buetikofer, the chain’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, said, “The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait.”

The McCrispy Strips will be offered in two serving sizes: a three-piece portion with one sauce or a four-piece option with two sauce cups. In addition to the strips, McDonald’s is introducing a new dipping sauce called Creamy Chili Dip. It will also offer traditional sauces like barbecue and spicy buffalo.

McDonald’s phased out chicken strips in 2020 during a menu revamp aimed at simplifying operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, fans have frequently requested their return.

With the launch of the chicken strips, McDonald’s is signaling a strategic comeback in the competitive fast-food market. The introduction of the McCrispy Strips comes ahead of the chain’s earnings report on May 1, after facing criticisms over rising prices.

In addition to the relaunch, McDonald’s may also hint at the return of the Snack Wrap, a menu item that fans have eagerly anticipated. This will rely on the same chicken tenders used in the McCrispy Strips, suggesting deeper engagement with customer preferences.

As the fast-food industry continues to evolve, McDonald’s looks poised to reclaim some of its chicken sales as they prepare for the anticipated rollout of the McCrispy Strips and their accompanying sauces.
