Meet the Cast of James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Movie Set for 2025 Release
The highly anticipated ‘Superman‘ movie, directed and written by James Gunn, is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. The film features a star-studded cast that brings the iconic characters to life. David Corenswet will step into the role of the titular hero, Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will play his love interest, Lois Lane.
Nicholas Hoult is cast as Superman’s arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor, adding depth to the film’s villainous storyline. Other notable cast members include Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. The Daily Planet crew is also well-represented with Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.
The film also features Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer. Anthony Carrigan will play Metamorpho, and Milly Alcock is cast as Supergirl. Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell portray Clark’s adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent. Additionally, Alan Tudyk has been cast in an undisclosed role, and there is a special cameo by Will Reeve, son of the late Christopher Reeve.
The trailer for the movie, released on December 19, 2024, gives fans a glimpse into Superman’s dual life as Clark Kent and the Man of Steel, as well as his confrontations with powerful foes and alliances with new heroes. The film is part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe and marks a significant reboot of the Superman franchise.
