Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $520 Million, No Winners This Draw

Detroit, MI – The Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held on Friday, Oct. 3, 2023, reached an estimated $520 million, but no one claimed the prize. The winning numbers for the drawing were 18, 19, 38, 54, 57, with the Mega Ball number 19.
This week’s drawing saw no winners for the jackpot, which means the total will roll over, increasing the prize for next Tuesday’s drawing on Oct. 7. The cash option for this jackpot has been estimated at $240.1 million.
Players in Michigan can buy Mega Millions tickets in-store or online until 10:45 p.m. on the night of the draw. Each ticket costs $5, giving players the chance to select six numbers from two pools—five from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball from 1 to 24. Those looking for a bit of help can use the Easy Pick/Quick Pick option for random number selection.
Previously, Mega Millions offered a Megaplier feature; however, it has since retired this option. The game now includes a built-in multiplier that can increase non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, five, or even ten times. This multiplier is automatically included in the price of the ticket.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot stand at 1 in 290,472,336. Players who do not hit the jackpot can still win smaller prizes by matching some of the numbers. Detailed payout information can be found on the Mega Millions website.
Winners of the jackpot have a choice between an annuity and a cash payment. The annuity structure consists of one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments, which increase by 5% each year to help maintain the winners’ purchasing power during inflation. Alternatively, the cash option provides a lump-sum payment equal to the cash available in the jackpot pool. Should multiple people win, the jackpot is split evenly among them.
As interest in the next drawing grows, players are encouraged to check their tickets and consider their numbers for a chance at this substantial prize.
