Mega Millions Jackpot Soars to $215 Million Ahead of Tuesday Drawing

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an estimated $215 million in the latest drawing scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, after no one won the top prize in last Friday’s drawing. The cash option for winners who match all six numbers is a one-time payment of $101.9 million.
The drawing is set to take place shortly after 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, with the previous winning numbers listed as 14, 19, 47, 52, 70, and the Mega Ball 6. The most recent significant win in Mega Millions was a $113 million jackpot awarded to a ticket holder in Arizona.
According to recent statistics, only four tickets have matched all six Mega Millions numbers in 2024, marking the fewest jackpots won in a calendar year since the game’s inception in 2002. In addition to the jackpot, there were other substantial prizes awarded during the last drawing, including one $1 million prize in Pennsylvania for matching all five numbers except the Mega Ball.
The Mega Millions game allows players to pick six numbers—five white balls numbered from 1 to 70 and one yellow Mega Ball numbered from 1 to 25. Tickets can be purchased at various locations, including convenience stores and gas stations, and in some states, players can buy tickets online. Players can also request a “Quick Pick,” where numbers are randomly generated by the lottery’s computer.
For an extra dollar, players may add the Megaplier, which can multiply non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, or five times. The Megaplier is drawn before the main numbers are announced and adds excitement for those looking to increase their prize money.
All players must be 18 years of age or older, and some states have different age requirements for lottery participation. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, resources are available for assistance.
After Tuesday night, the jackpot will increase once again if there are no winners, as the drawing on Friday, March 7, will showcase an estimated pot of $233 million, with a cash option worth $110.5 million.
For those eager to get involved, purchasing a Mega Millions ticket costs $2 per play, with the drawing held bi-weekly on Tuesday and Friday nights. With the odds of winning the jackpot sitting at 302,575,350 to 1, playing can certainly feel like a gamble. However, players can celebrate smaller wins by matching just the Mega Ball for a prize of at least $2.
