MIAMI – The Miami Marathon, set for Sunday, will prompt extensive street closures across key areas of the city, including Coconut Grove, Downtown, and Miami Beach, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to local law enforcement.

Major causeways will be affected, with the MacArthur Causeway closed eastbound from 5 to 8:15 a.m., the Venetian Causeway shut down from 6 to 10 a.m., and the Rickenbacker Causeway closed from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Temporary closures will also impact Brickell Avenue, Biscayne Boulevard, South and North Miami Avenues, and South Bayshore Drive.

In Miami Beach, closures from 5 to 10 a.m. will affect Alton Road, Ocean Drive, South Pointe Drive, Washington Avenue, and Prairie and Meridian Avenues. Coconut Grove will see closures from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., impacting Main Highway, Grand Avenue, and Aviation and Tigertail Avenues.

Authorities urge residents and visitors to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays. The annual event, which draws thousands of runners and spectators, is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions throughout the morning and early afternoon.
