Miami Officer Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

Sunrise, Florida – A Miami police officer was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting his wife at their home in Sunrise, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred Sunday night after the couple returned from an Easter event. According to an arrest report obtained by Local 10 News, the officer, Christian Vladimir Sanchez, 29, was heavily intoxicated after consuming a bottle of rum at the event.
Sunrise police responded to the scene and found the victim with a bloody lip and blood smeared on her teeth. She told officers that after taking a long shower, Sanchez exited the bathroom and attempted to make unwanted sexual advances.
The victim reported that when she refused his advances, Sanchez demanded that she gather her belongings to leave their house. As she was drying their daughter off in another room, Sanchez allegedly pulled his wife by her hair, causing her to unintentionally hit their daughter.
Sanchez then demanded his wife’s cellphone, but she refused. The report states he then got on top of her and punched her about 30 times while threatening to continue if she did not comply. The victim cried out for assistance from another woman inside the home.
The other woman filmed parts of the incident and called 911, but Sanchez confronted her and attempted to stop the call. The victim managed to escape and sought help from neighbors.
Sanchez initially fled the scene but was later arrested. He faces charges of robbery and battery. After being released on a $50,000 bond, he was fitted with a GPS monitor and ordered to have no contact with his wife, as well as being prohibited from possessing firearms.
Miami police confirmed that Sanchez has been placed on administrative leave with pay while an investigation is underway.
