Beverly Hills, CaliforniaMichael B. Jordan was honored with the American Cinematheque Award on Thursday, November 20, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The award recognizes extraordinary artists in the entertainment industry and their commitment to cinema.

The event drew numerous celebrities, including director Ryan Coogler, Tessa Thompson, Mahershala Ali, and Daniel Kaluuya. Jordan’s fellow actors and friends celebrated his achievements in film at the ceremony.

In his acceptance speech, the 38-year-old Jordan expressed gratitude, stating, “I stand on the shoulders of giants — and my ancestors.” He emphasized the support he has received throughout his career.

Jordan was recognized for his significant contributions to the motion picture industry, following last year’s award recipient Jessica Chastain. Previous honorees include notable figures like Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, and Charlize Theron.

The annual fundraiser, benefiting the nonprofit American Cinematheque, showcased five films featuring Jordan and Coogler from November 20 to 22. During the ceremony, Charles H. Rivkin, chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA), also received the Power of Cinema Award.
