MAITLAND, Fla. – Marcus Jordan, 34, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Maitland, Florida, on suspicion of driving under the influence and drug possession after police found his car stuck on railroad tracks. Bodycam footage shows Jordan telling officers he was Michael Jordan’s son during the arrest.

According to an arrest affidavit, Maitland police officers discovered Jordan’s vehicle with its headlights on and facing southbound on the railroad tracks near Greenwood Road and Mechanic Street around 1:14 a.m. on Feb. 4. The vehicle had reportedly fled from a traffic stop initiated by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office released dashcam footage showing an officer attempting to stop a blue Lamborghini, but the vehicle sped away. The officer terminated the pursuit and alerted Maitland Police.

Officers reported detecting the smell of alcohol coming from the car. The affidavit stated that Jordan, who was in the driver’s seat, was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes. A female passenger was also present in the vehicle, according to bodycam footage.

In the bodycam video, an officer can be heard warning Jordan about the oncoming trains. “Hang on. You are stuck. Come here. You know trains come by right now, right?” the officer said. Jordan responded, “I-I know. That’s why I’m trying to get the (expletive) up and out of here.”

When officers asked Jordan and the passenger to exit the vehicle, Jordan identified himself. “Bro, I’m Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son,” he said. “I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home and I made a wrong turn. And clearly, we would like to get our car off the (expletive) train tracks.”

An officer told Jordan he was concerned about his impairment and slurred speech. Jordan replied, “I appreciate your concerns, but I am not inebriated.”

Police said Jordan refused to exit the car until ordered to do so. He told police he was coming from venues in the Winter Park and Casselberry area, including Rachel’s Gentleman’s Club. Following a series of sobriety tests, officers arrested Jordan for DUI.

According to court records, Jordan was also charged with cocaine possession after officers found the substance in his pants pocket. He was also charged with resisting arrest without violence and property damage relating to the vehicle being stuck on the train tracks.

Jordan was booked into the Orange County Jail on Tuesday and released hours later. According to FOX 35’s Caroline Coles, he did not respond to reporters’ questions as he left in a Lamborghini.

On Thursday, Jordan addressed the arrest on his Instagram story, saying, “I appreciate everyone reaching out. I’m focusing on @trophyroomstore (Jordan’s elevated retail boutique) right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life. I sincerely appreciate your concerns, and thank you for your kind understanding.””

Marcus Jordan played basketball for the University of Central Florida (UCF) from 2009 to 2012 and graduated with a degree in hospitality management in 2013. He previously dated Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of his father’s former teammate, Scottie Pippen, before the couple broke up in 2024.

According to FOX News, Jordan has a prior arrest record. He pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2012. A charge of obstructing a police officer was dropped as part of a plea agreement.
