Michael Kiwanuka Announces UK and European Tour for 2025
Renowned singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka has announced an extensive UK and European tour scheduled for 2025. This upcoming tour is aimed at promoting his forthcoming album, titled ‘Small Changes,’ which is set to be released on November 15, as reported by sources familiar with the artist’s schedule.
The tour will commence on February 25, 2025, in Hamburg, Germany, and conclude on March 13 in Manchester, United Kingdom. In total, Kiwanuka will perform in four cities in the UK and eight cities across mainland Europe.
Fans of the artist are eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Small Changes,’ following the success of his previous album, which earned him a Mercury Prize and a Grammy nomination. Having already shared four singles from the new album, including ‘Floating Parade,’ ‘Lowdown (part i),’ ‘Lowdown (part ii),’ and ‘The Rest Of Me,’ Kiwanuka has generated significant excitement among his global audience.
The dates for the tour include performances in cities such as Hamburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Milan, Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, Wolverhampton, London, Edinburgh, and Manchester. Tickets will be available for general sale at 10 am BST on October 11, and fans can purchase them from various authorized ticket retailers.
Currently, Kiwanuka is involved in a co-headlining tour in North America alongside Brittany Howard, former frontwoman of Alabama Shakes. This tour includes notable venues such as New York City’s Central Park Summerstage.
In a recent interview, Kiwanuka expressed his concerns about the financial burdens of touring, particularly highlighting the necessity of live performances for artists who wish to connect deeply with their audiences. He noted, “For artists that make music that has a human touch to it, you need to tour to connect with people. That’s something you can’t replicate.”
The ‘Small Changes’ album is expected to explore themes of self-discovery and artistic experimentation, continuing the narrative that Kiwanuka has crafted throughout his career. Collaborations with producer Brian Burton, also known as Danger Mouse, have been pivotal in shaping the sonic direction of the new work.
Fans who pre-order the new album through Kiwanuka’s website by October 8 will have early access to the tour tickets, a move aimed at rewarding his dedicated fanbase.
