Minnesota Wild Host Utah Mammoth in NHL Matchup Tonight
SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild will face off against the Utah Mammoth tonight at 6 p.m. ET at Grand Casino Arena. This game marks the start of a six-game homestand for the Wild, who currently hold a record of 3-4-1. The Mammoth, with a season record of 6-2, sit in fourth place in the Western Conference.
Injuries have hit both teams hard. For the Wild, Mats Zuccarello (lower body), Nico Sturm (back), and Zach Bogosian (lower body) will all be out for the game. Similarly, Utah will be without Alexander Kerfoot (lower body) and Sean Durzi (shoulder).
Tonight’s matchup features the Wild, who are ranked 14th with just 7 points, against a rising Mammoth team that has shown great performance so far this season. The teams met four times last season, and the Wild clinched their first-ever victory over the Mammoth in a shootout, but lost the next three games.
Last time they played, the Wild struggled on both offense and defense, with goalie Marc-André Fleury posting a 4.08 goals-against average. In contrast, Mammoth goalie Karel Vejmelka shined with a 1.47 GAA and a .945 save percentage in his last four starts.
As fans fill Grand Casino Arena, both teams are eager for a win that could shift the momentum as the season progresses.
