Mizoram Raj Bhavan Hosts Inter-Cultural Festival Celebrations
The festive spirit was alive at the Mizoram Raj Bhavan as Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati graced the celebration of Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, and Bihu festivals, symbolizing the onset of a new era and the spirit of spring.
These traditional festivals, observed with various rituals and customs, reflect the cultural richness of states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, each with its unique significance and practices.
Gudi Padwa, the first day of the Marathi New Year, and Bihu, the Assamese New Year celebration, also marked the event, showcasing the diversity of Indian cultural traditions.
Dr. Kambhampati praised the attendees for embracing the inter-cultural festival, emphasizing the unity and shared commitment to national integration beyond differences.
The festivities included mesmerizing performances ranging from Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam dances to Bihu and Bodo performances by talented students from various institutions, showcasing the vibrancy of Indian culture.
NABARD’s General Manager, Mr. Prasad Rao, and MZU‘s Assistant Professor, Dr. Kiran Kharat, shared insights into the essence and significance of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, adding depth to the celebratory event.
The colorful display of regional dances like Bhangra, Marathi fusion, and Assamese dance, along with medley and Bollywood performances, enthralled the audience, highlighting the unity in diversity.
The evening concluded with a joyous photo session with the Governor and Lady Governor, capturing the essence of unity and celebration among the diverse performers, guests, and dignitaries.
