The renowned country music artist Morgan Wallen is set to launch his very own music festival titled ‘Sand in My Boots,’ which will take place from May 16 to May 18, 2025, on the sandy beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. This announcement was made public on Thursday, as Wallen took to social media to express his excitement for the upcoming event.

The festival will be a collaboration between Morgan Wallen, the Hangout Fest team, and AEG Presents. It aims to bring together a ‘highly curated multi-genre lineup’ featuring some of Wallen’s closest friends, favorite artists, and personal inspirations. Every element of the festival, from the music to the activities, will be selected by Wallen, who is eager to share the experience with fans and loved ones.

Reeves Price, producer for AEG Presents and Hangout Festival, shared his enthusiasm for the venture, noting, “The opportunity to bring Morgan’s world to life on the beach in Gulf Shores is something very special.” The festival’s launch coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Hangout Festival, adding to the significance of the event.

Stacey Vee, Executive Vice President of Goldenvoice and producer of Stagecoach, commented on the collaboration, describing it as “a dream come true” and “some of the most fun I have ever had booking a show.” Vee expressed anticipation for what promises to be an eclectic and electrifying lineup.

While the complete lineup and ticket details are yet to be announced, the highlight of the three-day event will undoubtedly be its unique blend of genres and influential artists handpicked by Wallen himself.

Wallen’s involvement in music festivals represents a growing trend among musicians who are connecting more directly with fans through these events. Past experiments by artists in similar endeavors include Pharrell Williams‘ “Something in the Water” and festivals organized by celebrities like Jay-Z and Drake.

For the city of Gulf Shores, the introduction of ‘Sand in My Boots’ is a significant cultural event, as noted by Grant Brown, director of recreation and cultural affairs for the city. This festival is the final event under the existing contract between festival producers and the city, which expires in 2025, with discussions for its renewal expected to commence soon.

Morgan Wallen’s previous successes, including his breakthrough album “If I Know Me” and the record-breaking “Dangerous: The Double Album,” have established him as a powerhouse in country music, despite facing some controversies in recent years. His popularity is evident in his ability to draw massive crowds, as seen at the Gulf Coast Jam and other major festivals where he has performed.
