Motor Vehicle Collision Causes Power Outages in Eastern Ontario
Several areas in eastern Ontario, including Campbellford, Marmora, Madoc, and Flinton, were plunged into darkness on Monday following a motor vehicle collision that impacted Hydro One‘s power infrastructure.
Hydro One, a major electricity provider in the region, reported that approximately 4,500 customers were affected by the power outages resulting from the incident.
Initially projected to be restored by 2:15 p.m., Hydro One later revised the estimated time for power resumption to the late afternoon for certain areas.
The disruption was linked to a single vehicle crash on Belmont Sixth Line near Havelock around 11:20 a.m. as confirmed by the Peterborough County OPP.
