Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into Median Cables in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was killed Friday evening after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into the center median cables along Interstate 37 South.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 15300 block of the interstate, according to San Antonio police. The rider, identified as Steven Ray Mckinney II, was traveling northbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he veered off the road for an undetermined reason.

Police reported that the impact ejected Mckinney from the motorcycle. Emergency responders arrived but pronounced him dead at the scene due to significant injuries.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Mckinney, 32, succumbed to blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled an accident.

At this time, no further details regarding the crash are available. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
