Multiple Incidents and Environmental Concerns Hit Crow Wing County

Crow Wing County in Minnesota has been plagued by a series of incidents and environmental concerns over the past few days. On Friday night, a 62-year-old Deerwood man was killed in a head-on collision with a semi truck in Daggett Brook Township, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

In another incident, a 34-year-old woman from Trommald, Minnesota, was arrested in connection with a house fire that occurred on Tuesday evening. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating an assault with a firearm near Merrifield and is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing 34-year-old woman.

Environmental issues are also a concern, as zebra mussels have been confirmed in White Sand Lake in Crow Wing County. This discovery was announced by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on October 31, 2024, highlighting the ongoing struggle with invasive species in the region.

In addition to these incidents, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is participating in Operation Green Light for Veterans, a national initiative to show support for veterans by displaying green lights at public buildings and homes.

The county is also dealing with a serious public safety issue after an AMBER ALERT was issued for a pregnant woman and her four children who were abducted at gunpoint. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in locating them).
