Multiple Injuries Reported in Austin Semi-Truck Collision

AUSTIN, Texas — At least seven people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 35 southbound on Tuesday evening. The collision occurred around 5:46 p.m. at the 12300 block, near Tech Ridge Boulevard, leading to significant traffic disruptions.
Emergency crews from Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) arrived on the scene to find several vehicles involved, including a semi-truck. Medics reported a total of seven injuries, with one individual initially pinned beneath a vehicle. That person was successfully extricated by first responders.
Two adults were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. According to EMS officials, the remaining five individuals involved in the accident did not require hospitalization.
The crash caused significant delays in the area, prompting the Austin Police Department to divert traffic to Parmer Lane. By 8:15 p.m., police announced that the road was cleared, but delays remained as cleanup efforts continued.
ATCEMS shared updates on social media, indicating they were onsite managing the situation. The agency noted, “Expect delays in the area, more information to follow.” Officers involved in traffic management have advised drivers to seek alternative routes until the situation stabilized.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and authorities have not released details regarding the factors leading to the crash or the condition of all involved parties.
