Multiple School Districts in NC Adjust Schedules for Wintry Weather

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Anticipating wintry weather on Wednesday, several local school districts in North Carolina announced changes to their schedules. Burke County Schools declared a snow day, which means no school and no remote learning for students. Staff will have the option to work remotely.
In Caldwell County, all schools will be closed for the day. Similarly, students in Kannapolis City Schools will not attend classes as campuses will be shut down. Union County Schools have also opted for a full closure.
Meanwhile, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are transitioning to remote learning, and all extracurricular activities, facility usage, and athletics are canceled during this period. Alexander County Schools will conduct remote learning for students while keeping buildings open for staff.
Cabarrus County Schools announced that they will also implement remote learning for students, along with Catawba County Schools. Additionally, QUEST programs will not operate on this day.
Hickory City Schools and Newton-Conover City Schools will hold remote learning days for students. Kid Connection will be closed. Rowan-Salisbury Schools will operate on a remote learning schedule, echoing the decisions made by Iredell-Statesville Schools and Gaston County Schools, both of which have opted for remote learning days as well.
