Mumford & Sons Cover Favorite Song at BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge
London, England — Mumford & Sons visited the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on October 27, 2025, to perform a cover of the popular song “I Love You, I’m Sorry” by The Secret of Us. The band, known for their folk-rock sound, delivered a heartfelt performance.
During their cover, the lead singer reflected, “That’s just the way life goes/I like to slam doors closed. Trust me, I know it’s always about me/I love you, I’m sorry.” In addition to the cover, the band showcased their original song “Rubber Band Man.”
Connection between the band and the original song’s artist, Abrams, goes back several years. Last November, she and co-writer Audrey Hobert shared a memorable moment with the band. They revealed they once performed a humorous version of her song “That’s So True” for Mumford & Sons. Abrams described the setting, saying, “We were on the roof of Electric Lady Studios and didn’t realize there was another roof above us. We were a little drunk in a great way — light and fresh.”
Their excitement was palpable as they laughed uncontrollably while singing. “We were just doubled over in tears,” Abrams added.
Their experience turned amusing when Lee Foster, who runs Electric Lady, informed them that Mumford & Sons were conducting an interview right above them. “He said, ‘Mumford & Sons are doing an interview right above you. It was bad!’” she recounted.
Mumford & Sons and Abrams previously connected during a performance supporting Kamala Harris in Wisconsin. At that event, Abrams sang “I Love You, I’m Sorry” and “Free Now,” while Mumford & Sons played a four-song set, highlighting their ongoing musical camaraderie.
