Myrtle Beach Police Arrest Two After Chase and Shooting Incident

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Two individuals from North Carolina are facing multiple charges after a police chase and shooting incident on Thursday morning. The Myrtle Beach Police Department reported that Omarion Glass, 20, and Riley Pegram, 17, were both arrested following the pursuit which began around 8:15 a.m.
According to the police, officers in the area of South Ocean Boulevard noticed a suspicious vehicle containing four individuals wearing masks. The vehicle fled from a traffic stop, prompting officers to give chase. During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police, although no officers were injured.
Approximately 20 minutes later, the chase concluded with a crash at 67th Avenue North and Highway 17 Bypass. Glass reportedly leaned out of the passenger side of the vehicle and fired multiple shots at pursuing officers using an AR-style rifle.
Both suspects were charged with three counts of attempted murder, among other charges. The police released information that Glass is also wanted for a parole violation related to drug charges in North Carolina.
Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock said, “This is about much more than just a moment. It’s about the danger they caused and the disregard for human life.” In a statement, she emphasized the urgent need to maintain safety in the community.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as alarming, noting the presence of multiple police vehicles and the sound of gunfire. One resident stated, “I thought I heard gunshots, but I think it was the crash.”
A judge denied bond for both Glass and Pegram during a hearing, citing the serious nature of their charges. The court emphasized the high risk the suspects posed not only to law enforcement but also to the community at large.
