Netflix’s Outer Banks Season 4 Release Details Announced
The anticipated search for pirate Blackbeard‘s lost treasure continues in the popular Netflix series Outer Banks. Following the release of the first five episodes, fans are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the season. Netflix has now confirmed that Outer Banks Season 4, Part 2, will be available on November 7, 2024, releasing at 3:00 a.m. ET / midnight PT.
Season 3 of the series ended with a significant 18-month time jump following the Pogues‘ successful discovery of the gold in El Dorado. The closure of this season brought several dramatic developments, including the deaths of Ward, played by Charles Esten, and Big John, portrayed by Charles Halford. Shortly thereafter, the group was approached by Wes Genrette, played by David Jensen, who offered them a proposal to embark on a new adventure in search of Blackbeard’s treasure.
The fourth season kicks off by revisiting the events leading up to the 18-month leap. The Pogues have established a new base known as ‘Poguelandia 2.0,’ where they operate a successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. However, despite their newfound wealth, managing finances proves to be challenging for the young protagonists, as detailed by the show’s co-creator Josh Pate.
In a statement to the press, Pate remarked, “John B. & Co. are kids, and they’re knuckleheads sometimes, so they don’t manage [their funds] as well. They shoot themselves in the foot a little bit, too.” Rudy Pankow, who plays the character JJ, described his character’s reaction to wealth, “JJ with money is like a kid who’s never been able to have candy his whole life, and has been given a Red Bull,” adding that the character quickly loses control of his spending.
As financial stress mounts, the Pogues—comprising John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo—decide to accept Wes’s proposal, plunging them into another thrilling adventure. This season introduces a first for the series with its two-part release strategy, a move that aligns Outer Banks with other notable Netflix series like Emily in Paris, Bridgerton, Stranger Things, and The Witcher, which have adopted similar release formats.
The first half of Outer Banks Season 4 premiered on October 10, 2024, with the remaining episodes scheduled for release in November, expanding the series’ narrative and keeping viewers in anticipation for the dramatic twists and turns that lie ahead.
