Kyren Lacy Lsu Star Wide Receiver

HOUMA, La. — New developments have emerged in the case of Kyren Lacy, a former LSU star wide receiver accused of negligent homicide. Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, revealed details about the crash and claims to have evidence that proves his client’s innocence.

In an interview with Houma Television Station, Ory stated that Lacy was over 70 yards behind the victim, Hall, at the time of the impact. “At the time of impact, he’s 72.6 yards behind the vehicles. Key word — behind the vehicles. That is not how this story was ever painted. Never,” Ory said.

In January, Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle following a crash on Highway 20 in Lafourche Parish. After turning himself in to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, he was released on a $151,000 bail.

Lacy was later found dead in Houston in April, with authorities indicating he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. In the investigation’s wake, Louisiana State Police stated, “Following the crash, LSP conducted a detailed investigation with the assistance of crash reconstruction experts.”

Police noted that findings showed Lacy’s reckless driving was a contributing factor to the crash. The report and evidence were submitted to the 17th Judicial District Court, which issued an arrest warrant. “As with all investigations, subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court,” added the police.

The Louisiana Democratic Party has since called for a full-scale independent investigation into the matter, citing concerns about the case’s integrity.
