National Taco Day New Jersey

The state of New Jersey is gearing up for National Taco Day, which has now been officially moved to the first Tuesday in October, synchronizing with the well-loved tradition of Taco Tuesday. This change, spearheaded by fast-food giant Taco Bell, aligns with efforts to create a more comprehensive celebration for taco enthusiasts nationwide.

Marlo Anderson, founder of the platform that tracks unique holidays, mentioned, “For years, we’ve celebrated National Taco Day on October 4, but it’s always felt more aligned with the festive spirit of Taco Tuesday.”

This modification follows last year’s legal developments when Taco Bell successfully campaigned to make “Taco Tuesday” a universally accessible phrase. Taylor Montgomery, Chief Marketing Officer at Taco Bell, stated, “With National Taco Day approaching, it seemed natural for it to fall on a Tuesday. We’re providing an opportunity for taco makers and lovers to celebrate more grandly.”

New Jersey-based chains are participating in the celebration by rolling out special offers. Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a local Mexican fusion chain, presents a $5 digital meal deal available on October 1. Customers can choose between soft or hard shell tacos, filled with chicken, ground beef, or pork, accompanied by chips and salsa.

Bubbakoo’s, founded by Bill Hart and Paul Altero, operates over 100 restaurants, including 50 in New Jersey. As part of the festivities, the chain will also select five loyalty program members to win $1,000 each after October 3.

Taco Bell is not to be outdone, hosting a month-long “frenzy of Tuesday Drop celebrations” where rewards members can avail of 10 different $1 specials each Tuesday, with offerings at more than 100 local sites.

Other establishments like On The Border and Rita’s Italian Ice are offering enticing promotions, although Moe’s Southwest Grill and Qdoba have yet to announce their 2024 deals.
