Powerball Lottery Ticket Sale In New Jersey

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. — A ticket worth $50,000 was sold for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing at a liquor store in Middlesex County. The third-prize ticket was purchased at Buy Rite Wine & Liquor on Route 34, according to lottery officials.

The recent ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball, but no one across the country won the $295 million jackpot. This has pushed the top prize for Saturday’s drawing to an estimated $320 million, with a cash option of $150.8 million. There were also no second-prize tickets worth $1 million sold in this drawing.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 24, 28, 40, 63, and 65, with the Powerball being 20 and a Power Play of 3X. Additionally, the secondary $10 million Double Play jackpot also went unclaimed, with winning numbers of 22, 36, 39, 45, and 50; the Double Play number was 14.

The odds for hitting the Powerball jackpot stand at 292,201,388 to 1. Players who buy a $2 ticket have about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers, not including the Powerball, which would result in a prize of at least $1 million. For third prizes of at least $50,000, the odds are approximately 913,129 to 1.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday across 45 states, along with participation from the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
