Boulder County Unveils Public Data Dashboard for Homeless Solutions Initiative

Boulder County has launched a new public data dashboard as part of the Homeless Solutions for Boulder County (HSBC) initiative aimed at addressing homelessness among single adults in the region. The dashboard, available on the County’s website, offers interactive access to data trends and services related to the project’s efforts.

The data displayed on the dashboard are sourced from the Boulder County Housing and Human Services Connect system and the state-wide Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), reflecting comprehensive information on coordinated entry assessments, program referral outcomes, homelessness exits, and exit types across the county.

Heidi Grove, the Systems Manager for Homeless Solutions for Boulder County, expressed gratitude to service providers for their diligent data collection and quality assurance efforts that made the dashboard possible. Grove emphasized that the collaborative work behind the dashboard was essential in achieving this milestone.

Sofia Vigil, the Regional Coordination Lead at MDHI, commended Boulder County for the launch of the data dashboard, highlighting the importance of data-driven solutions in addressing homelessness. Vigil noted that the tool empowers stakeholders with valuable insights to drive positive change in the community.

Since 2018, the City of Boulder has maintained its own data dashboard, but the recently unveiled Boulder County dashboard offers a more current perspective, encompassing data from 2020 to present, including entries and exits from the homelessness system, as well as program information from the City of Longmont.

Future enhancements to the dashboard will include additional data on street outreach contacts, inactive status individuals, program-specific information, shelter bed utilization, and interactive features to provide a more comprehensive overview of homeless services across Boulder County.
