Ex-NFL Player Adarius Taylor Arrested for Leaving Son in Car for Prostitution

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor was arrested last week after allegedly leaving his 6-year-old son unattended in a car while he met with a prostitute, authorities said Friday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on May 8 when Taylor responded to a fake internet advertisement created by law enforcement promising escort services. He took his son to an undisclosed location, left him in the vehicle, and proceeded to meet an undercover officer posing as a prostitute.
Video footage captured by police shows Taylor engaging in discussion with the officer before quickly leaving the area. Officers arrested him shortly after for soliciting prostitution and lewdness. The situation became more severe when officers discovered the child alone in the car.
“This guy here,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd remarked, “obviously he must have hit one too many people as a linebacker because his brain cells are scrambled. He shouldn’t have shown up in the first place, but to leave that child? My goodness.” Judd emphasized that Taylor’s actions resulted in a charge of child neglect, in addition to other offenses.
The sheriff noted that the child faces several medical issues which made leaving him unattended particularly dangerous. Thankfully, the boy was later picked up by his mother and is reported to be doing fine.
As for Taylor, he has not publicly commented on his arrest and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on June 10. He was released on a $6,000 bond.
This incident adds to a troubling backdrop in Polk County, where the sheriff’s office recently announced a nine-day undercover operation that led to the arrest of 255 individuals in connection with prostitution, human trafficking, and child exploitation.
